Imagine the future ... the time is now! Mission
Founded during the 1997-1998 school year by Leland High School parents and alumni, the Leland Foundation is committed to helping students and educators prepare for the demands and opportunities of the 21st century. The focus is to improve academic achievement through excellence in education at Leland High School.
Vision
Transform Leland High School into an innovative educational environment that delivers a variety of forward-thinking solutions with traditional courses offered in innovative ways, using technology as a tool, to provide students with excellence in education and a competitive advantage.
Visioning Retreat - View for the Next Five Years
The Leland Foundation convened a day-and-a-half retreat in May 2004 for the purpose of creating a five-year vision for the school. Parents, students, alumni, teachers, business leaders and San Jose Unified district leadership, 45 in all, participated in the retreat.Campaign for Science
The Leland Foundation for Excellence in Education is launching a fundraising campaign to support enhancements in the science program. The Foundation is seeking donations of money, technology and/or equipment needed by the next school year to support changes recommended by the Science Subcommittee of the Curriculum and Assessment Committee.
